"Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity..." --John Muir, 1898

Hike: Williams Canyon

Some snapshots from a day spent hiking and exploring Williams Canyon near Cave of the Winds with my buddy Clay. I think Clay took most if not all of these pictures.

We stopped at Glen Eyrie for a few minutes and just happened to see these big horn sheep grazing nearby.

Big horn sheep.

A view down the canyon from a high point we climbed up.

Another view across the canyon.

We were hoping for a cave, but we found some nice windows in the rock instead. Not a bad consolation prize.

One of the windows.

The same window.

Another window looking up the canyon.

A cave (or mine?) entrance up the canyon... too high to reach for us...
